Mr Manraj has an extensive portfolio of experience, developed from the start of his career, predominantly within the public and semi-governmental spheres in Mauritius. Between 1974 and 1998, he occupied various positions within the Ministry of Finance, ranging from Senior Accountant at the outset to Financial Secretary in 1990.
Mr Manraj has also served as Chairman of the State Bank of Mauritius (SBM), the State Insurance Corporation of Mauritius Ltd (SICOM), the Mauritius Offshore Business Activities Authority (MOBAA), Airport Development Corporation Ltd (ADCO), Airports of Mauritius Co. Ltd (AML), Business Parks of Mauritius Ltd (BPML).
He has been actively involved in most of the major projects in Mauritius, including the Ebene Cybercity. He contributed in the setting up of the Financial Services Commission, the State Investment Corporation, the Economic Development Board (EDB) and the Metro Express Ltd (MEL) amongst others.
Furthermore, he is presently the Chairman of Air Mauritius and Board Director of Mauritius Telecom Ltd, Economic Development Board and Metro Express Ltd and has also been Board Director of Airports Terminal Operations Ltd (ATOL) amongst others.
In the international arena, Mr Manraj has participated in various International Conferences as well as in the negotiations leading up to the signing of Double Taxation Avoidance Agreements with several countries. He is also the Alternate Governor of the World Bank.
